1. Race is taking place on Kite Judge's descision, generally when average wind speed is expected to be clearly above 5 m/s.
2. Racing area will be located close to the coast, more details will be given at day's skippers' meeting.
3. Race will take place in three sections - Speed, Downwind and Freestyle. Competitors are expected to participate in all three sections. Competitors will be split in groups, each group goes in rotation from section to another.
4. There are no limitations on equipment, all kites, skies and snowboards are permitted. There will be not enough time to change the equipment between the sections, so it has to be suitable for all three sections. Changes are permitted, but competitor changing his/her equipment is risking taking disqualification (DSQ) for missing section's start.
5. Kite Cross is a one day competition, which may be extended also for a second and third day. The purpose is to have as many starts as possible. Winner of the race is the racer, having largest point score when Kite Judge announces that the race is finnished.
6. Points are split between members of the group by principle of winner getting as many points as there are members in the group (for instance six points when winning in group
of six competitors). Number two gets one point less, last racer gets one. In case there is one or more DSQs, all of them are getting zero points. Also Did Not Start (DNS) and Did Not Finish (DNF) give zero points.
7. There are no discards, all results are final five minutes after the section start is over. No protests are taken after that. There is possibility to make a protest within five minutes after the finnish of last racer in the group. Race judge makes the discision about protest which is final.
8. In Speed Section all racers in turn (one at the time of few simultaneousily) are getting uniform GPS device attached and started by a Race Official. There will be given time (defined by the Kite Judge) during which racer has to go in given direction, get around the mark and come back. Top speed will be noted. Racer having best top speed in group gets maximum points etc. Failing to be on site at own turn, to complete the run within time limit, not staying within given sector or causing an accident to another racer or spectator result in DSQ.
9. In Downwind Section all members of the group are standing above the start line with kites in the air. At a start signal they are crossing the starting line and choosing either left or right cone. Thereafter each racer has to do three gybes (either Left-Right-Left or Right-Left-Right) and cross the finish line. Standard right of the way (starboard tack first) applies. Failing to perform in accordance with right-of-the-way rules, false start or purposeful crash or causing an accident to another racer or spectator result in a DSQ. Winner of the start gets maximum points etc.
10. In Freestyle Section there will be either professional or amateur judges. Each member of the group performs free move in front of the judges on given area on his/her turn. Once all members of the group have performed, judges announce winner (getting maximum points), second, etc. Failure to perform at his/her turn, unsporty behaviour or causing an accident to another racer or spectator result in DSQ.
11. At the beginning of the race racers are randomly destributed betweed the groups. At the lunch break or similar, points are counted and racers are re-distributed in accordance with their sum of points from starts prior to the break. Racers with largest sum are going to group one, once group one is full, to group two etc. In case of equal number of points, racer who was in higher group number prior to break goes to higher group and vice versa.
12. If the race is continuing on the next day, racers are re-distributed in accordance with their total score once again. That will be repeated at each break. The purpose is to keep people of equal level competing in their own group.
13. Once the Kite Judge announces that the race is completed, points are counted. In case of equal points better speed value at the last Speed Section start gives better position.
